Waters Foursome Win Top Laurels at Whitemouth
The Whitemouth Bonspiel drew sixteen teams for three events. Dorothy Waters of Lac du Bonnet won event one by defeating Evelyn Palanuk of Pine Falls. Kay Grier of Rennie won event two by beating Henderson from Whitemouth. Finalist in event three were H Tittlemier of Seven Sisters and P Bartley of Rennie. Bertha Okrainec, M Karklin, and Marg Guzinski supported Waters. A banquet and social followed.

Pinawa hosted the mixed Bonspiel February 4 to 6 with 36 rinks. First Event winners were Al Yaskiw Marg Wood Bob Dale Dorothy English over Grant Bailey team, both from Pinawa. Second Event top team Gerry Smith Marv Ryz Rita Pouteau beat George Duncan group from Pinawa. A Smorgasbord followed Saturday night at the curling rink.

Brownies and Guides trip to Ice Capades in Winnipeg
The Girl Guide Parent Committee organized a Sunday outing for Brownies and Guides to see the Ice Capades in Winnipeg. A Thinking Day tea will be held at the Legion Hall on February 26 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in honor of Lord and Lady Baden Powell. The Guides are meeting Tuesdays for a leather craft course led by Mr John Pishak.

Lac du Bonnet Man Injured in Fall at Quarry
Ernie Pott of Lac du Bonnet was seriously injured at Cold Spring Granite when he slipped from a dump truck top, plunging about 25 feet. He sustained a broken ankle and a fractured hip with possible internal injuries later ruled out.
