We toured the bazaar, observed vast cargo of Jap cars, and noted Jeddah’s arid landscape, oil based industry, and a population of about 160,000. We saw camels and goats unloaded as pilgrims and ships arrived, while local dress and customs stood in vivid contrast to home.
