Beausejour Brokenhead district mourns the death of John Bednarczyk a longtime resident and former school trustee. Born in Poland he served in the North-West Infantry and later farmed in Broken Head before moving to Beausejour. Survived by his wife four sons five daughters and many grandchildren. Funeral at St Marys Catholic Church with Renshaw Funeral Home handling arrangements.

Lac du Bonnet Garage Destroyed by Fire
A fire of undetermined origin swept through Viking Motors in Lac du Bonnet Manitoba early last Wednesday morning destroying the one storey frame garage built by Joe Sparman and five cars including two 1958 models. The blaze cut power and communications to the town for about two hours and caused damage estimated at 50 thousand dollars. Firemen struggled to contain the fire as nearby houses were affected and residents were warned to evacuate. Joe Sparman and Harry Parks are among the named individuals connected to the incident.

Music Recital Well Attended in Beausejour
Beausejour Town Hall was packed for a student music recital organized by Mrs. R Wilgosh Miss Toews and Mr. T Bachman. Anton Weselak chaired the event opening with O Canada. Mayor Larson welcomed the crowd. Local church choirs and students performed piano solos duets and choral numbers. A fund drive and plans to form a youth band were announced for January 8 at the Memorial Arena.
