Urges Guaranteed Farm Income Plan in Prairie Congress

Manitoba Minister Sam Uskiw and prairie farmers press Ottawa to adopt a guaranteed net income policy. They demand $300.9 million to boost prairie farm income after a collapse from $874 million to $174 million, with a formula tying payments to per acre costs and yields to stabilize earnings amid inflation. They critique federal policy, urging regional adjustments within agriculture and no widespread urban bias in development.
