Royal Bank Opens New Lac du Bonnet Building

The Lac du Bonnet Royal Bank of Canada branch moved to a modern new building on Third Street, two blocks from the old quarters. Manager E F Shewfelt and staff relocated, with updated fixtures, a safety vault, and faster service. The project, by Joseph Billon and Son, reflects a progressive, full-service bank for the community.

Bank Manager E F Shewfelt Heads New Lac du Bonnet RCABank

Bank manager E F Shewfelt of the Royal Bank of Canada Lac du Bonnet branch oversaw the move into its new quarters this week. He began with the Royal in 1943 and has completed 39 years of service, previously serving at the Whitemouth branch before relocating.

Tyndal Commemorates First Ukrainian Settlers

A church service at St Michael's Greek Catholic on November 21 marked the sixtieth anniversary of Canada’s first Ukrainian settlers. Assisting Bishop M Her manyk and Rev Fathers Sawchuk Hawrylin Kormylo Tarnovetski plus Father Kamenski led the service. Dan Wardrop Transferred to Lac du Bonnet

Dan Wardrop of the Government Forestry Service has received notice of a transfer to the forestry office at Lac du Bonnet. He and Mrs. Wardrop have been active in social life, especially in curling circles, and will be missed in Pine Falls. Jack Inkster of the Whiteshell reserve is appointed to the Pine Falls office.

Beausejour Chamber Elects Bronstein as President

Al Bronstein was elected president of the Beausejour Chamber of Commerce at the annual December 8 meeting. He urged closer co operation to attract industry, speed publicity material for 1952, and support tourism. Officers and committees were named, with a January 7 next meeting planned as a buffet gathering. The note ends with a Mary Baker Eddy quote and a Canadian mineral production milestone for 1950 exceeding one billion dollars.

Lac du Bonnet Ladies Host Annual Amateur Night

Last minute entries brought 23 contestants to the Lac du Bonnet Ladies Curling Club annual Amateur Night at Memorial Hall. A diverse program featured junior and adult acts, with S.C.C.e.W’s Ink-Spots winning top honors and St Andrew's Day Highland performances earning praise. Emcee Ken Bjornson and organizer Bill Creaney were lauded for a successful, financially strong event.

M F U Meets at Lac du Bonnet

A well attended Manitoba Farmers Union meeting in Lac du Bonnet outlined the union s achievements since its first year. Arnold Sarapu spoke on progress and resolutions chosen for forwarding to the Winnipeg convention. Bert Davies and Sarapu were elected delegates with several new members added. The next Lac du Bonnet meeting is set for January 17 at 2 o clock.

Snakes Have Up To Three Hundred Pairs Of Ribs
