Father Zimmerman and Ted Gajewski fished at White Lake Whiteshell Reserve. Helen Stastock and D Kowany vacation two weeks at Brantford Ontario. Walter Wasiuta returns to Sioux Lookout Ontario for two weeks harvest help. Kast Strugar leaves for Lansing Ontario to visit his son. Leo Leeyus to two-week vacation in Toronto. Mrs M B Dennys vacation with her mother in Oshawa Ontario. Mr and Mrs W Chanway spend weekend in Winnipeg. About 60 friends give surprise farewell for Mr and Mrs George Proceviat leaving for Elizabeth near Atikokan Ontario.
Metro Klucznik, 76, of Tyndall, was fatally injured about 2 am Sunday when struck by a westbound night freight near Tyndall station. His body was found Monday morning five feet from the tracks. An inquest by Coroner Dr. J. Brooks was held Monday and adjourned to August 17.
Miles Langthorn of Crescent Bay recently returned from England, recounting travel from Vancouver Island aboard the Princess Kathleen on March 6 and Halifax on March 12, landing in Liverpool March 21. He noted frequent trains and many small freight cars, vastly different transportation from twenty years ago, and observed trucks capable of 10 to 15 tons with two front steering axles. Langthorn visited friends, attended The British Industries Fair, the Royal Show, and the Olympic Games before August 3 arrived.
Birth notice congratulates Mr and Mrs Sam Ewach on the arrival of a baby daughter. John Novicki of Winnipeg visits for a week with Mr and Mrs T Novicki. Miss Elsie Evanochko returns to Elma from a Toronto vacation.

Demetro Klucznik of Garson died in his 76th year after a life in Canada. Born in Austria in 1872, he farmed at Sandhill Manitoba for over 40 years, retired five years ago, and lived in Garson until his death. He is survived by his widow Annie and one daughter Mrs H Boyko of Garson. Funeral services were held August 11 at the Greek Catholic church Beau Sejour. Ren Shaw Funeral Home assisted.
John Edward Wozny died suddenly in East Kildonan in his 25th year. He was born in Beausejour, attended local high school, lived in Toronto, and served two years in the army. Survived by his parents Joseph and Mrs Wozny and several Toronto and Beausejour relatives. Funeral held August 15 at Russell funeral home Beausejour with burial in Beausejour cemetery.
C A Loucks 82 died in Vancouver August 13. A former Pine Falls and Winnipeg resident born in Ontario he came to Manitoba young. Survived by widow Elizabeth five daughters Mrs J Beatson Mrs G Beatson Doris Vancouver Mrs R Thorpe Balmoral Man Mrs L Shand St Charles Man and son Douglas Winnipeg.
Tecla Okolita died August 9 at Selkirk aged 78 79 wife of Harry Okolita of Sedwyn Manitoba She is survived by her husband and daughter Mrs.
Pearl Kuchynski of Beausejour Nettie Bonkowski of Ledwyn and Joan Paige of Winnipeg are mourned with three Beausejour sons Michael and Steven plus Sharon Cliffe of Man. A total of 20 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren are listed. August 12 at 10 am in the Greek Catholic church Beausejour. Interment in Beausejour cemetery family plot. Russell Funeral Home of Beausejour handled arrangements.
On August 7 1948 at 3 30 p m Victor Litkowich and Ollie Shott were married by Rev B Kushuk at St Vilimir church. Bride wore white satin with veil, roses and sweet peas adorned bouquets. Reception at Szawich hall followed by departure to Windsor to start married life.
Elizabeth Karpec daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E Karpec and Michael MacHugo son of Mrs. P MacHugo and the late Mr MacHugo were married August 7 at 2 p m in the Tyndall Ukrainian Greek Orthodox church with Rev M Yurkinsky officiating. Ceremony featured lace and seed pearl adornments and a red rose bouquet. Receiption followed at Teddies Place in Tyndall and the couple will reside in Winnipeg after a Chicago trip.
