Geological Notes on British Columbia Hot Springs and Marble Canyon
The hot springs in the mountain National Parks mostly hold dissolved gypsum limestone and Epsom salt, chemically similar to Bath in England. Marble Canyon lies about 55 miles north of Radium Hot Springs in Kootenay National Park, a narrow gorge nearly 2,000 feet long. Tokum Creek has carved through the limestone, revealing a 200 foot depth over centuries.
