Manitoba Power Debate Supports McArthur Falls Plan
Members of the House praised the Special Committee hearings on power, agreeing on the need to develop a new power source. McArthur Falls is deemed the logical site, with public hearings planned on damages from Lac du Bonnet level changes. Government favors a public, long term approach with fair compensation and timely power from a new source by fall 1956, weighing private monopoly vs public generation.
