South Bend is to be made the sceneof a fistic carnival this week, and anumber of Chicago boxers will take a hand in it. The plan of match-making has been to put a good man against one of lesser reputation. The good man will furnish the drawing card an dthe other fellow will probably take the licking. For instance “Philadelphia” Jack O’Brien has been matched to fight Jack Beauscholte. The match is a poor one. Beauscholte. although a good earnest fighter, is not fast enough for O’Brien. When the pair met at the American club several weeks ago it was when O’Brien had a bad arm and was j'ust after he had engaged in a six-round contest • with Jim Driscoll. If Beauscholte could not make an impression under such circumstances he hardly seems to have a efiance aganst O’Brien, who will not only he fresh, hut who has two strong arms after a good rest at Atlantic City and Mount Clemens. Another bout at South Bend will be Benny Tanger and Tony Moran. Moran Is on the downhill side of his fighting career and the bout certainly looks like a piece of easy money for the Chicago, feather weight. The third bout of the carnival will he Harry Forbes against “Biz” Mackey of Findlay, Ohio. Mackey has done some good work in the small affairs, but is a long way from classing with Forbes.
