I WEST BATH BUILDINGS I ENDANGERED BV FIREFarm buildings of Frank P. Sprague on the Berry s Mill road. West Bath, were endangered by fire Thursday afternoon and the wood shed was destroyed while several other out buildings were saved only by the hardest kind of work. A corner of the dwelling directly under the eaves also caught fire. Engine 4 of the Bath fire department was sent to the scene and the property was saved. Mr. and Mrs. Sprague were away at the time and only four of their eight children were at home, the oldest of whom is 11 years. Neighbors telephoned the alarm. The origin of the fire is not definitely determined although it was believed to be due to hot ashes that were deposited too near the buildings. The projerty is well known as the Howard Varney farm and is below the bridge at Berry’s Mills.
