UldixuouuunSEVEN SISTERS FALLS SOFTBALL TOURNAMENTonThereThofweSeven Sisters staged their fourth softball tournament on Sunday, August 24 and in spite of the occasional shower and chilly breeze the day proved to be a great sucteas.Six teams, composed'of Winnipeg Electric. Great Falls, Oldenburg, Hungry Nine, Winnipeg Transport and Seven Sisters provided snappy ball for the large crowd of ball fans.wchi|deThcailofofanochadiineThe first game of the day was th to have been played between m Lady wood and Hungry Nine, but Hi the Lady wood team failed to show so up, so the Hungry Nine team won i* by default Due to the rest of the teams not arriving on time, no the Hungry Nine and the Winni- ro peg Electric (which had drawn wl a bye) played the first game of in the day. The Hungry Nine won 16 to 4 and moved up into the «n finals. Seven Sisters and Olden- de burg then met in their first round «s game, Seven Sisters winning by a score of 10 to 2. In the next firstround game. Winnipeg Transports £eliminated Great Falls by a score Mof 0 to 4. ™After a short intermission, the UI first semi-final game got under way between Seven Sisters and Winnipeg Transports; this was a g closely contested struggle. Seven ^ Sisters won by a score of ft to q3 and advanced Into *• against th* Hungry HItm*: *Th\s final game between the|n, wo local teams proved to be a I™ tatural as far as fans were con-1^ erned as the two teams have been 1p treat rivals for years. For four I nnings, the two teams played J* jerfect ball without a run on “ rither side. Then in the fatal I ifth, the batting power of the hungry Nine broke lose.
