The Indbpcud ents, however, were loaded for bea.\ having the pick of the Twin Citie* as well a- the best players of neighboring towns. They were a fast and ay-V7 y:v... jy Vgressive bunch of players and gave the Cuts a terrific mauling in the first half.In the first quarter La Salle had the advantage and with the assistance of a couple of fumbles kept the ball in Spring Valley territory. I on the tats eight yard line with four downs to go. lie. is where the local boys displayed t lie.fight ing spirit which made them famous and thev held theirheavy opponent^ and prevented a -cot .Again La Salle had the ball on the L*yard mark and again thev failed to jlt; over the top. It was the first time it* years that any team plowed throughthe Cats stone wall line.The V alley boys appeared the stronger in the second halt and the ball wasin La Salle territory the greater part of the time. However, it was not until the last three minutes of play that a score wa! made. QuarterbackLolli with splendid interference, went through La Salle’s line three oieces*-ive times and scored a touchdown. A minute later a La Salle man got away with a forward pass and for a few exciting moments it looked like a score, but he was downed after a 35 vard run. On the next play Cinotto, ot theWild Cats, intercepted a forward pa** and was down the field with no one in front of him. It looked like another touchdown but he was overtaken by a speedy La SIleian before he reached the goal. Time was then called with the score 6 to 0 in favor of Spring Valley.It was a most exciting and spectacular game to witness ami kept the spectators in an uproar from start to finish. The Independents tried one drop kick and the Wild Cats three.Many of the Spring Valiev player* were injured in the rough going, Walk er, Swanson, Covenv and Hve/.ek beingw *knocked. Goats Doig and Ed Covein were suffering from injuries in practice and should not have gone into this contest.The La Salle team will play a return game at Spring Valley lt;m Vrms^iiec Day, November 11th, and judging from this grueling contest it will be wort * while seeing.Next Sunday the A\ell At.hleiClub of Chicago will be the opponentsof the Cats at links Park.
