Lobdell, Leon McNeillInterest in the motorcycle races which will be held at Cohassett Beach Sunday, May 11th, is steadily increasing. Indications are that between 800 and 1000 people will go from the harbor and up-country to witness this event. The Cohassett Beach course gives spectators a chance to view the entire race from start to finish and the track is one of the finest ]ossible. A large number of entries have been made, among them the four racers shown above, who established records in the races of 1912.S. E. Lobdell, last year won the road race from Aberdeen to Centralia and return, which was run in August, a distance of 119 miles. The time made by Lobdell was 3 hours and 13V£ minutes. Aubrey Archer was second in this event, making the run in 3 hours and 14 minutes, being minute behind Lobdell at the end of the 119 mile course. In the Aberdeen to Oakville and return race, a distance of 78 miles, run in September, Ed. French of Hoquiam was winner, making the time in 1 hour, 57 minutes Leon McNeill was second, in 2 hours 7 minutes. McNeill met with an accident when near the finish, running into gravel and being thrown from his wheel. He lost 10 minutes in righting his machine. These four men are among the first entries for the Cohassett beach races.
