AAinooka's Mitchell wins titleMinooka’s Mark Mitchellwon all three matches withrelative ease and took the state class A wrestling title at 145 pounds for the second year in arow.Mitchell pinned Tim Dillman of Tolono in 5:37 for his first round victory then topped Ron Bezriendt of Sherrard 7-3 in thesecond round.In the title match Mitchellknocked off Chuck Harbin of Yorkville 9-0 to take the title.Minooka wrestling coach Dave Decker said he felt Mitchell wrestled real well especially in the finals.In the second round match Decker said Mitchell’s coldbothered him quite a bit.Mitchell finished the year with a 37-0 record.In the last two years Mitchell won 73 straight matches and hisfour year record is 101-6-1.Wilmington had two winners in the tournament as Steve Marshall took the 98 pound class and Chris Nugent the 167 pound division.Marshall topped Bernie Ruetliger of New Lennox Providence in the title match 9-7 in overtime.Nugent outpointed Kirk Rouse of Lake Forest Academy 7-2 in his title match.Yorkville, the defending state champion had one other wrestler reach a title match.Joe Cusic lost to Colin Johnson of Stillman Walley 6-2 in the match for the 132 pound title
