About the first good move that has been made on behalf of Carl MorrU since he* became a celebrity is the engaging of Con Riley, of F.ndlay Oh o. as his trainer. Riley has never gained the prominence that hla ability as a conditioner and handler deserves. the best bov he has had In recent years la Biz Mackey. The latter was never a champion, but Riley kept him busj all the time, and made a lot of money for the boy, when better lads were loafing or getting only occasional bouts. He always had Maokey ready, and his boxer never started In a fight, while Riley had him. In which the spectators did not get full value. This may have no* great bearing on Riley s Present job, as the purpose of Morris' hikers seeme to be not to get him Into the ring, but to keep him out of It.
