Heretofore when the Celtics came to town it was merely.an exhibition.Sunday the Palace Club, with two new men thoroughly, worked into the combination, will attempt to stand the tltleholders on their beam ends. It will be Washington's first pro basketball game of the season.Garry Schmeelk, who ig holding down one of the forward positions on the Palace team, is one of the best known players in professional basketball. The husky Garry has campaigned In almost every professional circuit in the East in the last fifteen years. Playing aside of Schmeelk is''Eddie Benzoin, who formerly captained Rutgers.Bd Knoblock, a skyscraping pi-votman, who formerly played with Kingston ami Paterson, is performing at center. He joined the ciub last week. The backfield is taken, care of by jBushman, formerly a star in and around New York, and Ed Lynch, who starred lor Catholic university on the court for several years. It is Lynch's' first attempt at pro basketball and he is more than holding' his own.Several added attractions will be the offering for the opening game,.Hearing, of Washington, who is coaching Columbia university, will be the referee. Hearing is rated as an authority on basketball.
