tian church in Malvern and was largely attended.The services were in charge of Rev. Mr* Burnett, pastor of the Christian church at Tabor, assisted by Rev. J. E. Wilkins, pastor of the First Baptist church in Malvern. A special choir, Mr. and Mrs. L, A. Talbott, 1-1. R. Parker and Mrs. F. R. Chantry, sang The pall bearers were Messrs. L. A. Talbott, Lou Barkus. W. G. Atstrope, F. R. Chantry, Frank Raines and Ob Raines. The remains were laid to rest in the Malvern cemetery. The following was the obituary read:Mary Raines was born in Pettis county, Mo., August 14, 1849, and went home to her Lord at Malvern. Ia., July 25, 1921.Having lost her mother at the early age of four years, she with her two brothers, James and Taylor, made their home with her grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Raines. Witii them she moved to Mills county, Ia.t in the spring of 185G. By her happy helpfulness and loving disposition as she grew into womanhood she became a charming companion in the circles of young people and a much beloved member of her grandfather’s family.She was married to James S. Miller October 2, 1870. It is interesting to note that this was the second marriage that ever occurred in Malvern, and the minister lived one-half mile north of Malvern in a little log house. To them was born one son, Dakin Miller, of Kapsas City, upon whom she lavished a devoted mother's lovo. With the bereaved husband this son mourns her loss. Rarely in this world do we find a woman of such meekness of spirit, such kindliness of thought, such strength of character, such unfailing devotion to her Master’s work as she understood it, in her home, her church, her community.Many hearts are mourning in Malvern today because of the loss of this good woman.She united with the Church of Christ in January, 1889, and has been one of its most devoted workers since. She was a sincere fried to all who were needy. Her greatest interests lay in the Sunday school and the.C. W. B. M.
