July 31—John Walkerami Karl Keuter were considerably injured and the former’s motorcycle badly smashed Sunday forenoon on the road near Oakville when the) ran into a wire strung alongside the highway. The accident occurred when the men, who were rid ng tandem, attempted to pass a body ol troops engaged in the war maneuvers.The men. with Walker driving, had gone to the east end of the county to see the maneuvers. Hetween Oakville and (late they met a column «i troops and the motorcyclists turned to the side. A signal wire had been strung along the side of the road and Walker failed to see it. It struck him 011 the neck and threw both riders and the machine back against a stump. Walker was cut about the neck and left leg and bruis ed about his body. One of Reuter’s arms was considerably injured. The two returned to Hoquiam on the train and their wounds were dressed. Moth will he laid up for several days.
