Saturday started the Round Robin. Softball Tournament among the Fraternities. Phi Kappa Theta and Kappa Sigma Kappa reached the finals by eachposting 2 victories,. 4 ’ ' ♦ .PHI KAP vs. BETA SIG John Klosowki pitched a no hitter for the Phi Kaps_and led them to a 2-1 victory. Beta ,Sig~ received fine pitching from Bill- Muffley as he only yielded 2 hits. Beta Sig scored first on: ah error by second baseman Jack Deon in the forth inning. In the bottom of the 6th with 2 out Jim Huzinga got a first hit of the ball game by doubling down the 3rd base line. JGosowski then doubled to left center scoring Huzinga. With; the 3rd baseman pulled in for a bunt Klosowski stole 3rd and then 2pitches later stole home with the games winning run., A.G.U. vs. Phi Kap ,, John Gledhill suffered his first loss in fraternity competition in 2 years as the Phi Kaps posted a 6-1 triumph. Howard Gilliam scored the only run for A.G.U. on an error. John Klosowski allowedonly one hit a single by first baseman Bob Stroppe. Jack Deon, Ben Williams and John Roeco-forte led the hitting attack by thePhi Kaps.• 1 . ♦ . Kappa Sigma Kappa vs.Sigma Mu Sigma An overall display of power started by Jack O’Brien first inning, opening hit, a home run, which started an avalanche of hits which resulted is a 22-0 victory for Kappa sigma Kappa pit-. . * •cher, Larry Starkweather; over STgrnia Mu. Free substitution by K resulted in a hit for every ppa Sig. that played. Starkweather helped his own cause by good pitching which resulted in 11 strikeouts. . / v, * 1 r * .. • • *Kappa Sigma Kappa vs Sigma Phi Delta —Sigma Phi Delta jumped off to an early 3-0 lead in the first inning against Kappa Sigma. Kappa in the semi-final eliminations of the Spring Round Robin Tournament. Not to outdone Kappa Sig. scored a big. 7 runs in the second inning which proved. to be enough to win. ' Larry Starkweather triple and Dick Southby’s double were the big key hits in the Kappa Sigma Kappa second inning explosion! This_proved to be the extent of scoring as Kappa Sigma Kappa was the winner 7*3.Phi Kappa Theta will meet Kappa'Sigma Kappa on Sunday, for the championship.
