Win Hunter traveled to Brooklyn this week to oversee Win Hunter Co interests. Arthur Booth of London Lancashire Life Insurance Co visited Thursday seeking business.
R W Brock of the Canadian Geologic al Survey led a party surveying the country west of Slocan Lake between Robson and Nakusp. He notes the highest southern British Columbia peaks lie west of Slocan Lake with views reaching the Rockies and Selkirks. Survey data suggest elevations over 10 000 feet, though final figures await processing. The team will depart eastward soon as the season ends.
Local Conservatives held series of meetings in London Silverton and New Denver forming Liberal Conservative organization in Silverton. Officers elected include President Wm Hunter and Secretary W S Clark. A social dance at McKinnon Hall and updates on local appointments and editorial changes also appear amid health and mining news.
The Miner and Electrician notes Slocan City's Markeson visiting Spokane during the fair and Dan Hanlon presenting Slocan ores. Hanlon stored samples in John St Casgon’s Eagle Block office for winter viewing. Silverton BC showcased at the Fruit Pair with Vancouver Comstock Bosun and Alpha properties highlighted for their rich ore displays.
The Conservatives of Sandon held an organization meeting in Tara Hall last Saturday night. Officers named include President FL Christie and Vice Presidents De Powers and AC Mighton. executive committee members were DR Maclean, 8 A Mighton, A Stirritt, J Satzer, C Cliffe, EM Sandilands, and Larry Dolan. The group plans future meetings in Tura's Mall.
The Rev C F Yates will conduct a Sunday evening service at Silverton Church at 7 30. All are invited to attend.
In Three Forks last Saturday afternoon the association named President A Cooper Abba and Secretary Treasurer F J Brennan. Due to light attendance, the election of remaining officers was postponed to a future meeting.
