Arrangements confirm an official opening at 3 p.m. on Friday March 29 with Minister for Lands Hon. F. G. Clarke and possibly Treasurer Hon. W. McPherson in attendance. Luncheon hosted by Shepparton Shire Council, followed by a cannery visit. A large contingent of fruitgrowers expected.

Welford returns to Victoria after 12 long years abroad. Vines suffer from sodium or black spot causing crop failure district wide. Italy school boys misread a public holiday and wired the schoolmaster for proof before confirming the day off. Miss Welford's call to Shepparton informed the Governor General, leading to happy reception of the experiment.
