Russell WI holds autumn meeting at Boychuk museum
The Russell WI resumed after summer recess on Sept 17 at Boychuk's museum near Rossburn. Members toured the grounds and viewed a model exhibit including a chapel bell tower thatched-roof cottage and a grist mill. A visit by Mrs Anne Barbwell from England drew members and guests from nearby Institutes to Leisure Club. Lunch for about 60 followed the talk and slides on England and Australia. The June outdoor meeting at Mrs D Simms featured a pot luck supper. October plans include a Market Place in the arena with pancake breakfast, bake sale and craft and miscellaneous tables. A note from the Children’s Hospital Book Market reported $90,600 from a recent sale, a record sum supported by the administration and board reflected in the Foundation.
