Pioneer of the district born Peel County Ontario June 22 1868, married 1886 in Binsearth. predeceased 1932. Survived by four sons and two daughters.

Scarlet and Gold Student Council Opens Term
This week the Student Council met for the first time this term with new officers in charge. The group plans to take on new duties such as War Savings sales and hosts a party next Friday inviting all students to join. Marion Keating oversees the Year Book. The Glee Club, revived this year under Mr. Pachinski, with Miss Taylor as accompanist, offers a mixed program including a negro spiritual and sea shanty. A potential Dramatic Club is discussed with Miss Davis guiding. The school opens with a wide range of activities.

Wilson to Run as Coalition Candidate at Angusville Convention
At a largely attended Angusville convention last Thursday night W. W. Wilson of Russell was chosen as Coalition candidate to contest the constituency. Other nominees were A. A. Forde Vista Harris Huston and Ben Murray Foxwarren. Wilson was elected on the first ballot amid 89 delegates of 104. He served in the last Legislature, winning Pussell in 1915 and 1920, and a 1941 victory over H. J. Peddie.

Farm Hand Goes Beserk at Inglis Farm
Nick Mervink a 24 year old farm hand appeared to go berserk at the Armstrong farm three miles southeast of Inglis Sunday morning causing about 10000 dollars in damage to stock buildings and implements. He took his own life on the scene after neighbors saved the house the barn was destroyed with four horses two calves and many implements injured six cattle were found poisoned in the field the house suffered little damage. Mervink had been morose for some time.
