Buick complements 1969 models with new suspension and air cleaner
The 1969 Buick line introduces a revised suspension for regular-size cars touted for top directional stability. A new 360 cubic inch V8 with two barrel carburetor gains 12 horsepower with doubled air cleaner capacity. Intermediate GS and GS 400 models see gains aided by automatic transmission and hood air scoops feeding a twin-snorkel cleaner.
Winnipeg Floodway Opens October 11
The Winnipeg Floodway opening ceremony will be held at 11 am near St Norbert. Manitoba Highway Minister Harry J Enns leads officials for the official opening and plaque unveilings marking floodway milestones. The $63.2 million project diverts flood water around Winnipeg with a 25.4 mile channel and 380 to 540 foot base width.
