Harold J Adams fatally injured on Inglis farm
Harold John Adams was fatally injured when his foot became entangled in a tractor power take-off while cutting on his farm two miles west of Inglis on Saturday afternoon September 8. He died shortly after admission to hospital. He leaves a widow Mable Commidge and ten children, plus his mother and brother. Funeral service at Inglis Community hall at 2:30 p.m. with burial at Asessippi cemetery.

Fisher, born November 5 1866 in London England, moved to Canada 1883 and settled in Craigie district Russell. Survived by son John Russell daughters Mrs W H Muir Russell and Mrs M Olasson Lundar Manitoba eight grandchildren one great grandchild.

Prices on 260 grads of Wheat were announced last week. They ranged from 89 cents for No 1 wheat to 49 cents for tough smutty. Buyers were cautioned that guessing prices is difficult in the current market.
Meat Rationing Returns in Canada Under New Plan
Canada re introduces meat rationing by the Wartime Forces and Trade Board with eight token system per coupon and a weekly limit of about two pounds per person. Coupons vary by meat type with M coupon numbers phased in weekly from September 10 onward. Fresh poultry game and fish remain non rationed.

Russell Nonagenarian Celebrates Birthday
Russell resident McIntosh, born in Perth county Ontario, turned 91 on Tuesday September 4 at home in Russell. He came west to Silver Creek in 1881 with Adelaide Whiteman and settled in Russell in 1920 after farming. The couple has two sons, Herbert and James, in Winnipeg. he was honored by the Agricultural Society as an original director at the old timers reunion.

Red Cross Work Continues After War Effort

Provincial Election Set for October 15 in Manitoba
