The Shellmouth community announces a Ladies Aid meeting on September 13 at Mrs Patterson’s Echo home at 2 30 pm. Choir practice at Mrs Gerrard’s Thursday evening at 9 pm. Harvest services planned for September 16 and 23 with special music and a Sunday School appeal. Public Contest by local school Sept 28 linked to the Boys and Girls Club. In Silverton on Tuesday September 4 a son was born to Mr and Mrs Ed Broadfoot. In Russell on September 6 a son was born to Mr and Mrs Gilber A Cope. In Hythe England on August 13 a daughter named Eileen Maple was born to Pte and Mrs G Ii Allen.
In memory of Harry Fitzgerald Cope killed in action on September 1 1915, and James P Bell killed in action on September 1 1916. Local commemorative note honors two service members with dates and names.
