Manitoba expands incentives to keep doctors in rural areas
Manitoba Health Minister Theresa Oswald announced a $220,000 expansion of the Medical Student/Resident Financial Assistance Program to boost rural practice. Third-year students can now receive $25,000 for a one-year rural return, with nearly 180 grants expected this year, as part of a broader rural health strategy increasing training spaces and nurse numbers across the province.
