Manitoba launches first home hemodialysis reimbursement program

The minister announced Manitoba becomes the only Canadian province to offer a home hemodialysis reimbursement program. The Kidney Foundation of Canada Manitoba Branch will administer it to cover extra water and power costs for home treatments. Executive director Val Dunphy praised the initiative as aiding families and enabling care at home. Minister Brady said the program reduces the need for new dialysis centres and reallocates funds to front line care.
