Literacy Month proclaimed in Manitoba by minister
Advanced Education and Literacy Minister Diane McGifford announces September as Literacy Month to highlight literacy and numeracy programs across the province. Manitoba supports adult learning with just over 19 million dollars for 2010 11 and has doubled investment since 1999 to almost 2.6 million, plus Reading for Life for early literacy. Encourage Manitobans to assess skills and discuss them with family and colleagues to stay current with labour market changes.
