Reaper Invention Distinguishes International Exhibition
The machine by Rev Batrick Bell of Carnoustie Scotland became the model for Mr Coemick's American reaper. Exhibited at the first International Exhibition in 1851 it marks the start of widespread machinery use in harvest. By 1860 farming tech spread widely and reaping machines evolved through various feed and delivery methods until the String binder appeared around 1886.
