The Manitoba government and Toronto Dominion Bank launch a pilot venture capital loan program providing up to 2 million in loans to small businesses. The TD Bank administers, with 65 percent guaranteed by the province. loans from 10 000 to 50 000, six year term, with principal deferred until year two.

Hall Committee explains fundraising to Town Council
The Hall Committee led by Eldon Montgomery explains fundraising efforts to the Town Council. Over the past two years the Building Committee raised about $142000 for hall upgrades and debt repayment with additional funds from Roy Cusitar’s farm, grants, clubs, an auction, a craft sale, and a dinner theatre. Plans include new carpet and 100 chairs and dishes funded by the town budget before the committee disbands on December 31 1995. an Operating Committee will continue postdisbandment with council involvement.
