The fifth Chicken Chef in Manitoba opened in Russell on October 1 with a ribbon cutting led by Chamber president Ari Swain and owner manager Chuck Ferchak. Russell mayor Jim Langford helped. Free coffee and doughnuts greeted guests. The chain began in Carman in 1978 and now includes Carman Virden Thompson Ste Rose du Lac and Russell. The Russell site is in the former Chicken Corral. Ferchak, formerly Virden manager, says Russell feels similar to Virden.
