Grass fire near Foxwarren barely contained by local crews
A fire along the highway ditch by Ralph's Stewart's was quickly fought by Foxwarren farmers and the Foxwarren fire brigade after a cigarette may have sparked it. The blaze threatened the Stewarts and Wottons before being stopped. A glow on a hydro cross-arm suggested the spark source. George Betteridge spent further days in Birtle Hospital. his daughter Fran was mentioned.
