Manitoba Misses Big HRDC Jobs Fund Boondoggle

HRDC spending across Canada sparked a debate as Manitoba saw only five approved projects between 1996 and 2000, all in Dauphin Swan River riding. Three projects used 689,214 in TJF funds for Lake Katherine Camperville and Rolling River First Nation, expected to create 54 jobs but without follow up. Meanwhile Saint Maurice riding received 8.5 million across 24 projects, highlighting regional disparities and prompting Auditor General concerns about vague rules and inflated job figures.
