The exhibit of cattle sheep swine and poultry alive and dead will eclipse previous displays.
The St Andrew's Society of Russell holds its annual dinner at the Queen's Hotel, Russell, Monday evening at 8 o'clock. The society aims to unite members and descendants for mutual friendship, preserve motherland traditions, promote loyalty to British institutions, and assist distressed Scots with advice and pecuniary help as funds permit.
A candidate must be of Scotch birth or of Scotch parentage on either the father’s or mother’s side to be eligible for membership in the Society.
McDougall’s threshing outfit works at S Rea’s. Coultis visit friends Tuesday. John Rea hauled home summer cattle. E Moore relays a lost turkey and a wolf thief tale. Cusitar’s threshing yields 280 bushels of No 1 hard wheat from five acres at George Temple’s. Jim Gray, working for S Rea, gets lost while searching for cows and returns with horses at dawn after a night near Thom’s farm.
The Siberian railway has been completed. Editor Macveety of Prince Albert died of paralysis.

Winnipeg Telegram will publish an evening edition in a few days while expanding the morning edition to ten to twelve pages and the weekly to sixteen to twenty pages. Local readers praise the paper's enterprise and support from the West.
