Dan Widdicombe age 81 died October 31 2007 at Russell Personal Care Home where he had lived for over eight years He was born January 14 1926 at Foxwarren eighth son of John and June Widdicombe and left a legacy as a Grand Champion at the Brandon Winter Fair in 1940 He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force before transferring to Princess Patricia's Light Infantry and later studied agriculture at the University of Manitoba after purchasing land under the Veterans Land Act He married Muriel in May 1950
