Waywayseecappo breaks ground on Brandon conference centre
Waywayseecappo First Nation begins construction of a 25 000 square foot conference centre near Brandon with a 18 month timeline. Chief Murray Clearsky says the project, funded to boost financial independence, will include a 17 000 square foot main conference space and 8 600 square feet of rental offices. The building will feature floral beading and quilt work patterns honoring Anishinaabe culture. ADVA Marketing and Consulting leads the project with concrete pours expected by month end and a late 2024 completion target.
