Town Scenes and Rural Work Report
Town residents organized a parade of white horses to display and bet on. A call to the boys to go to the front has drawn sadness. Scholars plant gardens at Arbor Day school. Cattle move through town for shipping and pasture.
Red Cross Dance and Town News at Endcliffe
Endcliffe hosts a Red Cross Dance in the school-house on Thursday the 23rd to support the cause. Admission is Gent's $100, ladies free. Also notes growth of Endcliffe with M D Gordon building a store and dwelling on the new town site this summer. D Tully reports loss of all stables to fire amid a dry spring with high winds.

April report notes money on hand 45.20 and assets including silver tea 380 and car of scrap iron 147.80, totaling 196 80. Expenditures list soldiers Bibles 10.00 yarn and sock legs 25.00 sundries 45. On hand 16.35 total 196.35. A supply bag held 12 day shirts 2 dozen bags 13 pyjamas 8 dressing gowns. Shellmouth Rev Mr Ashcroft traveled to Russell on business. Ladies Aid of the Presbyterian Church hosted a successful meeting at Mr and Mrs Bond’s house with many attendees.
