Westman Wildcats win first Esso Cup title in Calgary
Dwight Pollack, coach of the National Champion Westman Wildcats, led the regional AAA Female Midget team to a historic 5-2 victory over the Scarborough Sharks in the first Esso Cup National Female Championship. The squad, featuring Pollack’s daughter Brandi and Sheryl Kaskin, Haag helped anchor a defense that produced 10 points across six games. The win caps seven years of formation and five years of lobbying to create a regional female midget program matching boys AAA boundaries in Manitoba.
