Grant supports harness racing program in Manitoba
Tourism minister Bob Banman announced a shared cost capital improvements grant program of up to 800,000 to aid harness racing on rural circuits. The scheme funds dollar for dollar matching up to 5,000 per participating agricultural society, offsetting last year’s Assiniboia Downs decision to discontinue racing for 1977 and beyond. Seven societies have received 15,889 in grants for approved 1976 projects including Carberry Deloraine Dufferin and Glenboro societies.
