RM of Riding Mountain West council votes in large indemnity raise
A special meeting of the amalgamated RM of Riding Mountain West in Inglis drew a crowd to amend bylaw 2015 03 raising indemnities for reeve and council. Reeve Barry Chescu and councillors defended the hike noting higher workloads, with eight councillors at 1000 monthly plus 100 per two meetings and reeve at 1600 plus 100, totaling 10500 monthly and 3580 yearly, while critics cited ratepayer costs and fairness.
