Manitoba issues February flood outlook cautious near normal risk
The Manitoba Hydrologic Forecast Centre reports spring flood potential is near or below normal in most areas if no significant precipitation occurs before thaw. Flood risk rises in the Souris and The Pas regions with above normal soil moisture and snowpack. Ice thickness and lake levels are monitored as Amphibex crews prepare ice jam mitigation and flood defenses.
