Russell Chamber of Commerce urges strong turnout at Friday polls for Major Pratt Collegiate auditorium. By calling 44 53 64 115 124 or 383, volunteers will transport voters to and from polling, open 9 am to 8 pm. Slogan: Vote to You Please, But Please Vote.
A community course led by Hon Sterling B Tyon QC outlines Easter Week activities for students and future leaders. It covers basketball volleyball gymnastics badminton and group games with new offerings in field hockey for girls wrestling for boys and archery for all participants at focal schools and playgrounds.
Manitoba 41 members are funding their own travel as delegates for tours. Twenty-two girls and 16 boys will visit near Wilkie Saskatchewan from July 12 to 22, a return visit aligning with a Saskatchewan 44 delegation last summer. Another Manitoba 43 delegation travels to Alberta July 12 to 20, including 21 girls and 17 boys. Members participate in living and working with host families while pursuing best family projects to aid their development.
A local Centennial Group plans a visit to Russell on Friday at 10 am. The trip will include a boat event near the river and a meet with community members to discuss autumn and Halloween preparations.
