Lake of the Prairies Fishing Derby Draws Big Prizes
Twelve year old Dayson Mohr won the $10,000 first prize with a 93 cm pike on Lake of the Prairies during the Asessippi Parkland Tourism Derby. Harvey Layh captured $5,000 for an 87 cm catch and Darren Burdeniuk took $2,000 with an 83 cm pike. The event drew 432 anglers despite cold conditions, raised several thousand dollars for local tourism, and featured a Winners Choice raffle won by Joyce Fouillard of St Lazare for a 2011 Yamaha Rhino.
