The Inglis UCW ladies joined a Dropmore park picnic featuring a fashion show and supper. Visitors from Swan River Benito Russell Roblin and Langenburg attended the events. Wedding congratulations to Doug Kurtenbach and Shelly Adams. Russell Elks celebrated a sixtieth anniversary. Jack Rawlings earned a forty year pin. Beloved locals marked birthdays and family visits across the area.

Weekend visits and community events in Silverton district
Mr and Mrs David Coulter spent the weekend aiding his mother Mrs Emily Coulter to move to an Winnipeg apartment. Mrs Barbara Cochrane attended a Portage la Prairie meeting to plan the Teachers College anniversary on July 4. She visited Winnipeg afterward with family then returned with Mr and Mrs Gerald Kating. Visitors with Mr and Mrs Al Ross included Betty’s brother and wife from Kitchener Ontario. Mrs Mariann Cochrane went to Stonewall for a cousin’s wedding then called on relatives in Hamiota Wawanesa and Carman. Mrs Grace Ferguson attended her granddaughter Jennifer Cheslock’s piano recital in Oak Lake then returned. The Beef Clubs Fat Stock show and sale was held in Roblin June 10 with Russell 4-H Beef Club present. Gordon Mushumanski won champion, Richard Kieper reserve. Mrs Laura Coulter joined Mrs Edna Dunn for a day out. Mrs Catherine Cochrane drove to Hamiota to visit kin and attended baptism in Wawanesa. great grandson Brock Frederick Michael born to Mike and Maureen Fisher. Catherine returned after a enjoyable weekend with family.
