Annual meeting of the Birtle District of the Methodist church held in Crardle on May 31 and June 1. Ministers present included most except Rev R Eason due to sickness. Two addresses were given at a public meeting and a vote favored church union by twenty to two with discussion on its benefits for the kingdom.

One thousand seven hundred fifty Manitobans named Mary or variations contribute to a fund for a coronation gift for Queen Mary. The names will be sent to Her Majesty. A proclamation in the Canada Gazette notes June 22 as coronation day for King George and designates the date as a public day of thanksgiving and rejoicing in the Dominion.
