Town to crack down on dogs by bylaw changes
Russell council tightens dog control enforcing restraint licensing and vaccination under the Animal Husbandry Act. Geordie Daneliuk approved as dog catcher to ensure compliance. Dogs must be confined or leashed, vaccinated, and licensed. violations lead to three days in the pound or transfer to the clinic for sale or destruction. Fees include 25 dollars for first visit plus three dollars daily, rising to fifty for a second visit and higher if multiple visits. other bylaw provisions limit dogs to three per household, ban dogs on school property, and prohibit barking.
