Mitchelson proposes amendments to shield children from abuse
Manitoba Family Services Minister Bonnie Mitchelson proposes amendments to the Child and Family Services Act to broaden the child abuse registry. The changes would expand the definition of abuse to include pedophiles and customers of child prostitutes, require courts to report names of offenders, and compel police to add known abusers found anywhere to the registry to aid screening by schools and day cares.
