Strongquill trial diaries reveal wartime mindset and remorse
Jurors hear journals from Robert Sand seized after the Russell detachment shooting. He describes seeing Strongquill’s bullet ridden body and the uniform as war, then shifts to envy toward law enforcement after his younger brother Danny’s death. RCMP experts link shots to close range and track a crime spree across Saskatchewan and Manitoba, with DNA and residue tests presenting limited conclusive links to the accused.
