Manitoba employment rebounds 13100 in May as Covid measures ease

Statistics Canada shows Manitoba jobs rose by 13100 in May after April declines as Phase One Restoring Safe Services progresses. Private sector gains 5.4 percent, part time work up 10.3 percent, unemployment rate falls to 11.2 percent and youth unemployment drops to 22.8 percent. Government programs include the 500 million Manitoba Restart, Gap Protection and Summer Student Job Recovery.
